    What Is Community Participation?

Community participation support helps NDIS participants engage confidently in social, recreational, and community activities — building connections, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Your Choice Healthcare supports participants to take part in local events, group activities, and outings across Queensland.

Our team accompanies and supports participants as needed, helping them feel comfortable and included while developing social skills and community connections over time.

    How This Support Is Funded

Community participation is funded through an NDIS plan, usually when it supports social connection and independence goals. We work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed participants. Check what your plan includes or ask us and we’ll help you understand it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of community activities are supported?

We support a wide range of activities, including social outings, local events, group programs, and recreational activities based on participant interest.

Both options are available, depending on the participant’s preference and NDIS plan.

Yes. Building social connections and friendships is a key part of our community participation support.

That’s very common. Your support worker will go at your pace and stay with you until you feel comfortable.

Community participation happens out in the community, such as at local events and venues. Group and centre-based activities take place in a set space with a scheduled program.

Call us on 1300 029 790 or send an online enquiry, and we’ll talk about where you’d like to go.
